- BT Pensii has over 27,000 customers who save through the Pensia Mea fund
BT Pensii, a company of the Banca Transilvania Group that manages the voluntary pension fund Pensia Mea, announces a new benefit: zero fee on contributions. Across the voluntary pension fund market, the fee is up to 5% of the contribution, a percentage set by law. BT Pensii is introducing this benefit to encourage saving and to support a more sustainable future in Romania.
“Pensions are on many Romanians’ minds, in many ways. We want it to be a positive topic, one that helps Romanians be better prepared for the future. We support long-term saving through low costs and simplicity in managing the voluntary pension account. We are glad that over 27,000 people have chosen to plan their financial future with Pensia Mea. We aim to be the first choice for people who are building their future, for those who work and save today,” said Aurel Bernat, Chairman of the Board of BT Pensii.
The BT Pensii company is led by Corina Cojocaru, Chief Executive Officer, and has assets of 129 million lei.
What Pensia Mea from BT Pensii offers:
- Additional income: an accumulation fund that a person can access after the age of 60;
- Flexibility: the monthly contribution can be changed at any time or suspended for a period, with the option to resume. The minimum is 60 lei per month, and the maximum is 15% of gross monthly income;
- Tax advantage: both the personal contribution and the one offered by the employer are tax-deductible up to the lei equivalent of EUR 400 per year;
- Easy money management: payment is made directly from your current account or by your employer. Customers also have access to online tools such as the Online Account on the BT Pensii website, where they can also check the amount accumulated, and the Budget Calculator.
- A more sustainable future.
A voluntary pension complements the state pension system and the mandatory private pension, meaning money accumulated for a future pension. In Romania, the average public pension is 54.4% of the average net salary, namely 1,772 lei, according to the National Institute of Statistics (March 2022). The average age of the population is 42, and the 50–54 age group has the largest share of the total (8.9%), according to the same source (January 2022).
