Banca Transilvania is launching BTPOS App, which turns a merchant’s Android device into a POS that accepts contactless payments by card, phone or other payment accessories.

BT offers a full ecosystem of payment solutions: traditional POS terminals, Android POS terminals, mobile POS, BT’s own eCommerce solution BT BTeComm, the multi-merchant STAR loyalty program, meal voucher acceptance, etc. These are presented on BTePOS.ro, the platform through which merchants can order everything they need to let customers pay by card, by phone or online.

“With this launch we continue our digital journey, adding to the range of card acceptance solutions. The phone-based POS app offers entrepreneurs a convenient, fast and practical alternative. Merchants will be able to use the solution either stand-alone or integrated with their own application, and alongside the acceptance solutions they already use,” says Oana Ilas, Executive Director, Retail Product Development and Management, Banca Transilvania.

BT, the leader in card payment solutions

• Over 43,000 companies have over 80,000 BT POS terminals, and BT’s merchant acquiring market share is close to 30%.
• The bank also focuses on eCommerce, with its own BT eComm solution, and is the market leader, processing transactions for over 9,700 online merchants.
• The STAR program includes over 19,000 merchants, with around 17,000 physical stores that accept installment payments and STAR loyalty points, and over 2,300 online stores.

Banca Transilvania is the first bank in Romania to have received, last year, ISO 9001:2015 certification for card acceptance activities via POS terminals and for eCommerce. The certifying body is SGS Romania, part of the SGS group, the world leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification.
