In the Centenary year, Banca Transilvania, together with Ziarul Financiar, is taking stock of Romanian business and looking for solutions to help entrepreneurship grow over the next 100 years.

A series of events titled Romania: 100 Years of Business will be held in 12 cities across Romania, bringing together entrepreneurs, economists, sociologists and journalists to discuss ideas and solutions for generating economic growth.

The aim of this project is to understand what it will take to make Romania tomorrow better than Romania today, and what ideas and solutions can be found.

Some of the questions these events will address:

• How can Romania close the economic and development gap and move closer to the European Union average?
• How can Romania experience fewer extremes and build a much stronger middle class and a class of entrepreneurs that will become the backbone of business and society?
• How can the ideas of every Romanian who wants to become an entrepreneur be turned into a business?

The first event in this conference series will take place in Brasov on May 10 this year. The conference will be moderated by Cristian Hostiuc, Editorial Director of Ziarul Financiar, and speakers include Omer Tetik — CEO, Banca Transilvania; Alex Milcev — Partner and Head of the Tax Advisory Department, EY Romania; and Lajos Vajda — Director, Asimcov and Clustero.
