BT Business Event at the Romanian Embassy in Hungary
The Embassy of Romania in Hungary became, for a day, on October 15, 2025, a meeting place for diplomats, entrepreneurs and Banca Transilvania representatives, at an event focused on business opportunities in the Hungarian market.
BT and the Embassy of Romania in Hungary hosted this event for the business community in both countries. It provided a collaborative setting — a forum for dialogue about the potential of the Hungarian market, the challenges entrepreneurs face when expanding to other countries, the aspirations of businesspeople, the diaspora, and how Banca Transilvania can support all these plans.
We were pleased to have among the participants entrepreneurs running businesses in Romania and Hungary, as well as people looking to expand regionally, who came to Budapest from nearly 10 counties across Romania.
“Banca Transilvania is the partner for local and regional growth, to leverage the advantage of proximity together and turn opportunities and challenges into results” – this was BT’s key message at the event, delivered by Ömer Tetik, CEO, Banca Transilvania.
Economic relations with Hungary:
- There are over 15,000 companies with Hungarian capital in Romania (EUR 1.61 billion), and around 7,000 companies with Romanian capital in Hungary (EUR 353 million).
- It is Romania’s third-largest economic partner, and we are also part of regional cooperation projects together. Hungary is the 11th-largest foreign investor in Romania by total invested capital.
- It is one of the major foreign investors in Romania, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, gas distribution, agriculture, construction, hospitality and real estate.
- For Romanian investment, Hungary is an attractive destination, especially for e-commerce, car leasing and rental, transport and deliveries, manufacturing and IT.

It was a discussion about the courage to explore new horizons, about the essential role entrepreneurs play in developing communities, boosting local economies and strengthening regional ties. Banca Transilvania supports, financially, strategically and institutionally, entrepreneurial ideas that take Romanian businesses and brands beyond borders.
