BT News Group: March 2026
March was a month marked by strategic milestones for the Banca Transilvania Group. The BT brand reached a symbolic threshold, surpassing 1 billion dollars in the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 ranking. The month brought product launches, important steps in the AI area, as well as major financings in Romania and internationally.
Brandul BT valorează over 1 billion dollars
Banca Transilvania remains the most powerful banking brand in Europe, with a brand value of over 1 billion dollars, according to the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 ranking. Also, BT remains for the fifth consecutive year in the top 10 strongest banking brands in the world.
Contribution to Romania's performance
BT is among the main contributors to Romania's performance in Global Innovation Index 2025 (place #49 out of 139 countries).

BT is the first bank in Romania that face parte din programul Visa Agentic Ready, contributing to the testing and development of autonomous trading solutions based on AI agents.

- BT launches a new online shopping campaign. Discounts and other benefits for Easter preparations, in the period April 1-5.
- Banca Transilvania and Mastercard have launched the physical version, in euros, of the premium McLaren F1 Team Mastercard Debit Gold card.
- eSIM, directly from BT Pay: choose the planwhich suits you best, without extra trips or complicated settings.
- Victoriabank and Fiscal Partner have launched in the Republic of Moldova a complete digital solution for acceptance of payments and sales taxation.
- The Visa ePOSibil Campaign, carried out by BT together with Visa, comes with a benefit not to be missed for small and medium businesses: BT POS with 0% administration fee, for 6 months.

- BT, through BT Italy branch, finances with over 50 million euros one of the Hilton hotels in Venice, thus marking a new step in international expansion.
- BT granted Globalworth financing of almost 40 million euros for the development of the fourth office building in the Green Court complex in Bucharest.
- BT was the main mandated arranger in one of the largest green financings in the region, worth 460 million euros, granted to the Austrian company Enery by a consortium of eight banks.
- Microinvest (Transilvania Bank Group) attracted the largest loan in the company's history and strengthens its role as a main partner in microfinancing for entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova.
Recognition
Banca Transilvaniawas designated The best Private Banking bank in Romania by the magazine Euromoney.
Continuity in leadership
- Ionuț Stroe is the new General Director of BT Pensions; previously held the position of Deputy General Director. The position became vacant after Corina Cojocaru became General Director of BRD Pensions, a company acquired by the BT Group in November 2025.
- Robert Anghel is the new CEO of Salt Bank, after previously holding the position of Chief Business Officer. Gabriela Nistor, who has led Salt Bank since 2022, ends her executive term, continuing to contribute to the strategic direction of the bank and to the next stages of growth, as a member of the Board of Directors.
