Banca Transilvania stands with its customers and will continue to do so, and is therefore announcing the option to defer up to 3 instalments for loans to individuals affected during this period.

Customers facing temporary difficulties in making their repayments — whether for medical reasons, quarantine or isolation, or due to the current economic and financial situation — are advised to contact BT to find the right solution. These arrangements apply upon request from customers affected by the current context, by calling the Customer Care team, available 24/7 at 0264 308 080 or, even easier, online.

Operationally, the deferral solutions involve extending the loan term, with no additional costs, by the corresponding number of months. The exception is the Prima Casa loan, where deferral means redistributing the deferred monthly instalments over the remaining term of the loan, in line with current legislation. The bank has set up processes that eliminate the need for customers to visit the bank.

BT’s first step: extending the grace period for credit card customers
As early as last week, Banca Transilvania announced a series of measures to support its customers.

For the more than 500,000 credit card customers who are not currently past due on their monthly obligation, the grace period has been extended until May 25. Customers have no payment due in March and April this year, with the first due in May.

BT has also started taking requests to defer repayments from mortgage customers who are experiencing financial difficulties due to the current situation.
