What’s the connection between cards and love? 3 years
They say love lasts 3 years. That’s how long a card is valid, too. Cards, however, have a superpower: they renew automatically. Still, what do we do when love ends 😊 our card expires?
These days, physical cards don’t like being on their own, especially since each can have its twin virtual 😊 digital in apps and gadgets such as BT Pay, Apple Pay, Garmin Pay or Fitbit Pay. Compatibility is 100%: when the physical card expires, the digital one expires too. But you never go without a card. How so? Until the new card is in your pocket (and after, of course), you can use its digital twin in the BT Pay super-app — whether you want to pay for purchases with your phone or transfer money.
About the new cards, with all our love 💛:
- Together until the end of the month — not the world 😊: If a card expires, say, in October, it can be used until the last day of that month.
- It’s your call: before your card expires, you’ll receive an SMS from us with the news that the relationship with the old card is nearing its end, and you can choose to have the new card delivered to your home or to come pick it up from BT yourself.
Option 1 – we send the card to you:
We’ll send the card to your home/to the address you’ve provided, and we’ll debit the courier fee from the account you hold with us.
If you live abroad, we’ll arrange to get the card to you overseas. Just call us at +40.264.30.80.28 (Call Center) or send us a message at contact@btrl.ro, and please include details such as: first name, last name, CNP, the address abroad where we should send the card, plus your consent to pay the courier fee.
Option 2 – pick it up yourself:
If you didn’t opt for home delivery, the card will be waiting for you at the BT branch where you opened your account. Don’t keep it waiting too long 😊.
Is another BT branch closer to you? No problem — call us at 0264.30.80.28 (Call Center) or stop by that branch and tell us you’d like to receive the card there. - You get a big like from us if, when you come to BT, you bring your old card. We’ll take it and make sure it’s securely destroyed in an environmentally friendly way.
- A friend in need: If you can’t pick up the new card yourself, that’s fine, but the person who comes to the bank on your behalf must have a notarised power of attorney with an apostille when they visit us.
- Contactless love: You may know this, you may not — all BT cards are contactless.
- Some things don’t change, even with cards, such as the PIN, which won’t change for the card reissued at expiry. You can, however, change it anytime at any BT ATM.
- One more step: The new card needs to be activated at a BT ATM. How? By using the old card’s PIN. If you added the new card in digital format to BT Pay before the physical card reached you, there’s no need to stop by an ATM for activation.
Every 3 years it’s time to replace our card 💳. If that moment is coming up, this information will definitely help you and your new card get off to the best start together.
