21 teenagers supported by Banca Transilvania’s foundation, Clujul Are Suflet (CAS), passed the baccalaureate. Of these, 8 earned averages above 8 in the exams and are now preparing to enrol at university.

Since 2008, the year the Clujul Are Suflet Day Centre opened, almost 1,900 people have benefited from the CAS team’s support — through tutoring, social activities, school and career guidance courses, etc. — to improve their academic results, stay in school and find a path that best matches their aspirations. 

A few results that speak to the BT foundation and the 9 years dedicated to young people with potential who come from difficult social backgrounds:

• Almost 1,900 young people have been helped to overcome difficulties encountered at school or at home;
• More than 700 of the almost 800 teenagers at risk of school failure (being held back a grade, failing classes, absenteeism, dropping out, lack of motivation for school, etc.) improved their academic standing;
• More than 160 of the over 250 teenagers tutored by Clujul Are Suflet teachers in various subjects passed the baccalaureate exams. Over time, 111 of the 125 high-school graduates entered university, and another 14 enrolled in post-secondary schools; 
• Almost 700 teenagers attended school and career guidance courses and were supported in making the best possible decisions about the schools or professions that suit them;
• 230 teenagers completed vocational qualification courses and are now trained in trades in demand on the labour market;
• 350 young people were helped to find a job.

The Clujul Are Suflet foundation was established in 2007 by Banca Transilvania and is BT’s largest community engagement initiative.
