Anchor Grup Secures EUR 80 Million Financing from Banca Transilvania
Anchor Grup, one of the leading real estate developers with a 25-year track record on the local market, has secured EUR 80 million in financing from Banca Transilvania to refinance the Group’s retail and office portfolios. The loan is one of the most significant bank financings granted in recent years to players in the Romanian real estate market.
"We are pleased that Banca Transilvania, Romania’s largest bank, supports the development of our projects and has confidence in Anchor Grup’s investment strategy. Our partnership with BT is a positive signal for the real estate market, not only for our Group, but also for all active investors in the country and for potential foreign real estate investors interested in Romania. The availability of local capital is also a sign of the maturity of Romania’s real estate market, in whose strength we strongly believe, and it should encourage this trend and carry it into other industries," said Affan Yildirim, Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors of Anchor Grup and Member of the Board of Directors of Shopping MallDova.
“Bank lending remains the most important and — to date — the most efficient source of financing in Romania, used by the real estate industry. Through our partnership with Anchor Grup, we help create a positive social impact in the market through sustainable projects, in a sector that plays an essential role in all aspects of our lives”, said Cosmin Calin, Executive Director, Large Corporate Clients, Banca Transilvania.
Anchor Grup’s achievements over its 25 years in Romania include a series of firsts for the local market. To date, the company has maintained its pioneer status through numerous successful initiatives across all its business segments. Anchor Grup developed Romania’s first modern shopping center, Bucuresti Mall-Vitan, which has become an urban landmark. Romanians watched the first 3D film at Movieplex Cinema, the theatre in Plaza Romania. Renovating both malls while keeping them operational was another major project and a first for the local market. Four years ago, Bucuresti Mall-Vitan opened Designers Boutique, a unique initiative dedicated to all local fashion designers and brands. InCity Residences, the company’s first residential project, remains a benchmark for Romania’s luxury residential market. In the office segment, Anchor Grup was the first developer to launch an integrated mixed-use project, with Anchor Plaza built right next to Plaza Romania. Throughout its activity, Anchor Grup has focused on sustainable, long-term projects that benefit various communities in Romania.
