Banca Transilvania has completed the acquisition of the shares held by the Polish group Getin Holding in Idea::Bank, Idea::Leasing and Idea::Broker de Asigurare. BT announced the signing of the acquisition agreement in June this year, and has recently received the necessary approvals to close the transaction from the National Bank of Romania and the Competition Council.  

The current Idea::Bank will become a digital banking hub, going beyond traditional banking. All three entities currently operating under the Idea brand will adopt new corporate identities. The acquisition’s positive impact on the economy and society is its contribution to consolidating the banking industry and repositioning the bank as a digital platform, with an ESG agenda across the board.

Idea::Bank is the third bank acquired by Banca Transilvania, after Bancpost (2018) and Volksbank Romania (2015).
