Banca Transilvania extends EUR 21 million financing to Alesonor to build 300 green homes
Alesonor, the developer of the first complete suburb, Amber Forest, has obtained financing of EUR 21 million from Banca Transilvania. This is an investment loan for the development of 294 green homes in the first stage of the Amber Forest project, with an estimated construction cost of approximately EUR 57.5 million.
Amber Forest comprises approximately 500 green villas and 200 green apartments, developed over 31 hectares, with only 15% of the land built up, featuring the lowest floor-area ratio.
Statements:
- Alex Skouras, Managing Partner, Alesonor: "Amber Forest homes are the first in Romania to meet the NZEB energy standard, mandated by the European Union since 2021. As energy-efficient buildings and, at the same time, high-quality, durable constructions that integrate cutting-edge and smart-home technologies, Amber Forest homes are a safe investment, reconfirmed by securing from Banca Transilvania the capital to develop the first energy-efficient green villas and apartments."
- Cosmin Calin, Executive Director, Large Corporate Clients, Banca Transilvania: "We are pleased to be part of this project, aimed at developing energy-efficient housing in line with the latest European standards. Financing this type of project is part of the sustainable development strategy of Banca Transilvania, and each client, through their specific profile, helps us strengthen step by step the ESG capabilities that derive from the rigors of the NZEB energy standard. We want to see as many such projects as possible in Romania, because at BT we have a firm commitment to supporting the community and the environment".
- Alina Stancu Birsan, partner at Filip & Company: "We are delighted to support the Alesonor team once again in developing a landmark project that shapes a modern community and has a positive impact on the environment. Amber Forest gives us hope for a modern future for Romania based on respect for the environment, sustainable development and care for what we pass on to future generations. We thank our client for the opportunity to contribute to its implementation and for the trust placed in us. We also thank Banca Transilvania, in which we have found, as always, a constructive partner with a specific interest in the same sustainable values".
The suburb will have full infrastructure: a school, kindergarten and after-school, sports fields and halls, running and cycling tracks, a spa and a gym, over 5.3 hectares for parks and green spaces, a supermarket, a market, a bakery, restaurants, a café, a pharmacy, a clinic and a co-working space with conference rooms.
