Banca Transilvania is supporting the expansion and redevelopment of Salina Turda, one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Romania, with 14 million euros in financing. The total investment, approximately 25 million euros, will extend the visitor route by turning the Iosif Mine into a new attraction area and by modernizing the treatment facility.

Iosif Mine, currently only visible from a distance, will be fitted with panoramic elevators, walkways and an artificial salt river. It is one of the four mines that make up Salina Turda, alongside Rudolf Mine, Ghizela Mine and Terezia Mine.

I’m glad to see Salina Turda continue to develop. It’s one of those places that manage to surprise me every time. Whenever I have visited it, I’ve come away with a strong impression because of the beauty you can find more than 100 meters underground. I’m pleased to support an investment that will further showcase Salina Turda and that will continue to delight many people for years to come.

The investment will benefit the entire community around Salina Turda, from increased tourism activity in the area to the development of the local economy.

Banca Transilvania’s financing is guaranteed through the Bank for Investment and Development, and the project was arranged by TUD Investment Consulting.

The works will take place over approximately two years, during which Salina Turda will remain open to the public.
