Banca Transilvania, the leader in the card market, is launching the BT Pay Sticker, a first in Romania. Any object the sticker is applied to becomes a means of paying for purchases at merchants.

The Sticker, Bracelet and Watch are the contactless payment accessories in the BT Pay Collection, which customers can use for purchases in Romania and abroad.

“With the launch of the BT Pay Sticker, we continue to offer practical, fast and modern payment alternatives. We are confident it will be well received, against the backdrop of growing interest in the BT Pay Collection and the rise in contactless payments. Approximately 20% of payments with BT cards are contactless, which means an increase of over 450% in 2017 compared with 2016.” – said Oana Ilas, Coordinating Director, Retail Product Development and Management Division, Banca Transilvania.

Details about the BT Pay Sticker:

• It can be applied to a flat surface, such as a phone or wallet.
• The issuance fee is RON 30, the maintenance fee is RON 15 per year, and there is no fee for purchases at merchants in Romania and abroad.
• If the amount paid is up to RON 100 or equivalent, no PIN is required.
• Banca Transilvania customers can order online or visit any BT branch, and will receive the sticker in around five days.
• A complementary service to the sticker is SMS Alert, which sends information to your phone about transactions made with the sticker or with other payment instruments linked to the current account. The SMS Alert subscription can be requested via BT24 Internet Banking, by phone (Call Center: 0264.30.80.28) or at any BT branch.
• People who are not BT customers but would like a sticker need to open a current account with Banca Transilvania first; this can also be done online.

Banca Transilvania is Romania’s largest card issuer, with 3 million cards in its portfolio. With a market share of over 20%, BT is also the leader by card transaction volumes.
