Banca Transilvania launches the ABT Financiar program nationwide, for school students

 ● All 550+ BT locations open to children during the Scoala Altfel week

Banca Transilvania is launching, nationwide, BT’s largest financial education program for schoolchildren, ABT Financiar, which will take place during the Scoala Altfel week, April 18–22 this year. Children in grades 1–4, accompanied by their teachers, will have the chance to learn, right in BT branches and agencies around the country, how to manage money and how a bank works. To take part in ABT Financiar, schools need to schedule online on the campaign page by April 11 this year.

Banca Transilvania is honored to contribute, in this way as well, to educating future generations of enterprising people.

The launch of ABT Financiar is based on two main arguments, the first closely rooted in children’s experience: the word “money” enters their vocabulary early, as do the ways money is received, counted, spent or saved. The second argument relates to the findings of the Standard&Poor’s rating agency study published in November 2015, which shows that Romania has the weakest level of financial education in Europe, with only 22% of

adults having knowledge in this area.

How teachers can register for the A BT Financiar program:

  • Go to the campaign webpage: https://www.bancatransilvania.ro/abt-financiar/
  • Select the county and city where the participating school is located
  • Fill in the following details: school name, class, number of participants, and contact details for the teacher who will accompany the students to BT
  • Schedule the visit – choose the BT location, day and time

In Romania it has become a tradition that, in the third week of April, as part of the Scoala Altfel program, students are offered unconventional learning experiences. For one week, special activities take place to support alternative education and familiarize children with practical aspects of everyday life.

Through dedicated partnerships, Banca Transilvania has also supported the launch and development of financial education programs for children in previous years, the best known being CONTeaza pe educatie, My Money Week and KEN Money, with ABT Financiar the first to be run nationwide. In addition, through the KidCONT product, the bank offers parents not only the ability to save for their children, but also a series of dedicated online courses.
