Banca Transilvania has received ISO 9001:2015 certification for card acceptance activities via POS — app and attended, unattended and virtual payment terminals — and for eCommerce activities. The certification body is SGS Romania, part of the SGS group, the world leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification.

BT is the first bank in Romania to receive this recognition for card payment solutions, following an external audit. The certification attests to the quality of the bank’s POS and eCommerce services and solutions.

Banca Transilvania’s impact on the card payments market:

• Over 40,000 merchants and 80,000 physical locations and online stores use BT’s acquiring services.

• On average, 13 transactions are made every second with Banca Transilvania cards.
• Card purchase volumes increased by over 42% in 2021 compared with 2020.
• 17,000 merchants are part of the Star loyalty program, for BT customers with Star credit cards.
• Banca Transilvania has issued over 4.6 million cards.

Merchants working with Banca Transilvania have access to BTePOS.ro, the online platform with solutions for card, phone or online payments.

BT has over 2.5 million unique digital customers, representing 68% of active customers. These are individuals and companies that use at least one of the bank’s digital solutions — apps, Internet Banking or Mobile Banking.
