Banca Transilvania puts entrepreneurs on the map to support neighborhood businesses in Bucharest
- Banca Transilvania supports entrepreneurs with a new initiative to rally Romanians, Bucurestiul Intreprinzator 3.0
- BT is continuing similar initiatives launched in 2020, Cumpara de langa tine and Cumpara de la o afacere mica
- 85% of Bucharest residents prefer to buy from businesses close to home, according to a study by Reveal Marketing Research and BT
Banca Transilvania is launching a new initiative, Bucurestiul Intreprinzator, an online platform about the people and business ideas that have turned the capital into Romania’s most enterprising city. It features a map of businesses in Bucharest, showcasing well-loved neighborhood brands that can be submitted online to raise their profile. BT is thereby continuing the initiatives launched in 2020, #CumparaDeLangaTine and CumparaDeLaoAfacereMica, aimed at rallying Romanians to support local businesses.
Through Bucurestiul Intreprinzator 3.0, the bank aims to strengthen the sense of belonging across the 17 neighborhoods included in the campaign. In the same spirit, one component of the initiative is a set of visual messages that will reach Bucharest businesses, aligned with the brand and the positioning of each neighborhood they belong to: Piata Victoriei – All roads lead to Victorie(i), Baneasa – Mon glamour, Colentina – A local bazaar with international flair, Berceni – The street is the soul of commerce, Pipera – Tunari – A business festival, etc. Some of the businesses registered on the Bucurestiul Intreprinzator platform will also benefit from promotion by the bank through its own communication channels.
A recent study by Reveal Marketing Research and Banca Transilvania, based on over 500 online interviews with Bucharest residents aged 18 to 50, shows that 85% of them prefer to buy from neighborhood businesses close to home. The reasons include saving time (86%) as well as the quality of products and services (over 50%). Most respondents said they are loyal to businesses in their neighborhoods, with 57% also recommending them to friends or acquaintances.
Bucurestiul Intreprinzator 1.0 and 2.0
Entrepreneurs’ recommendations were the first phase of the Bucurestiul Intreprinzator program: those featured went on to nominate other bold ideas, such as Pegas, Radio Guerrilla, 5 to go, Frufru, In Fata Blocului, Tea Tomescu, Orchestra Simfonica Bucuresti, Times New Roman, Pain Plaisir, Maison Dadoo and Summer Well. The second phase of Bucurestiul Intreprinzator brought something new: recommendations by public figures — people who chose to join BT’s initiative nominated and promoted Bucharest entrepreneurs’ brands, showing their support.
Launched in June 2016, the program is a first in bank communications in Romania, through which BT is helping build a distinctive community, Bucurestiul Intreprinzator.
