Banca Transilvania has joined the Environmental Pledge, the first initiative by Romania’s business community to commit to a sustainable future, launched by eMAG, GreenTech and Foundation Conservation Carpathia.

What this pledge aims to achieve:

• reduce the carbon footprint of companies in Romania;
• encourage and support companies in Romania in setting measurable targets and concrete measures to protect the environment and prevent climate change;
• bring the business community together for a sustainable future in harmony with the environment;
• contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement on combating climate change.
  
  

Any company that has set the following goals can join this pledge:

• calculating and reducing its carbon footprint;
• voluntarily offsetting unavoidable emissions;
• publishing a non-financial report;
• joining a global initiative.
  
  

Companies that join the pledge benefit from the know-how and tools available through the Environmental Pledge platform, which help calculate their carbon footprint and set a plan of concrete measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
