● BT will match every donation made through December 21 ●

Banca Transilvania and the Simona Halep Foundation are joining the Help the children hardest hit by the pandemic campaign, launched by SOS Children’s Villages Romania, with a donation of 50,000 euros. In addition, the bank will match every donation to SOS Children’s Villages made through the bank’s website or via the BT Pay app through December 21 this year.

The funds raised will be used for food, clothing, hygiene products, emergency repairs, etc. - for 450 children in vulnerable communities, in SOS Children’s Villages programs. The involvement of BT and the Simona Halep Foundation is another way to inspire and mobilize people to help children.

According to data from SOS Children’s Villages, in Romania more than 700,000 children live in extreme poverty in rural areas and are part of large families, without access to running water and heat. In this context, the need for involvement is extremely high.

In September this year a similar campaign ran, Get a child ready for school even if they’re not your own., by Banca Transilvania and Save the Children Romania. With the help of people in Romania, a BT donation and the bank’s matching of donations raised almost 120,000 euros, helping 1,200 children from low-income families to be able to learn.
