Banca Transilvania and PTP Online are expanding their digital services into public transport payments. Starting today, passengers in Sibiu can also pay for Tursib bus rides with their mobile phones, via the 24pay app.

Launched so far in Timisoara, Brasov, Iasi, Arad and Ramnicu Valcea, 24pay gives around 2 million Romanians access to a modern, online way to buy public transport tickets. The app was developed by PTP Online, part of Ecco Group Development, and payments for ticket purchases are processed through the online card payment solution provided by Banca Transilvania.

For BT, involvement in this project is an opportunity to continue its digital transformation projects and to stay close to the communities it is part of, especially as online services in public transport remain an area that is still underserved in Romania.
