Banca Transilvania customers can withdraw cash at ATMs using their phones, via the BT Pay app and Apple Pay. The option is also available to customers using the contactless accessories from the BT Pay collection. Another contactless alternative the bank is rolling out now is cash withdrawal at BT ATMs without inserting the card into the machine.

"The world is changing, and so is banking. Volumes and the speed at which we operate have increased, as have customer expectations. Our BT figures show that contactless payments are on the rise, which is why I am confident the trend will be quickly adopted for ATM cash withdrawals as well, especially using the phone. We are pleased to be the first bank in Romania to give customers contactless access at the ATM and a completely new way to interact with the machine and with technology" - says Ömer Tetik, CEO, Banca Transilvania.

On Android phones, access to funds is via the BT Pay app, and on iOS devices, via Apple Pay. Hold the phone near the contactless symbol on the ATM, authenticate, then follow the usual steps for a standard cash withdrawal.

Contactless access at the ATM keeps all existing ATM functionalities for Banca Transilvania customers, except card activation and PIN change, for security reasons. Contactless options are available at over 500 Banca Transilvania ATMs marked as contactless. By the end of the year, most BT ATMs will have these features.
