Banca Transilvania is supporting the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Europe’s largest performing arts festival by scope and scale. Held in Sibiu from June 10–19 this year, the festival brings together artists from 70 countries, presenting more than 410 events across 67 venues for an expected audience of 65,000.

The 2016 programme is varied and features flagship productions by leading companies from abroad and from Romania: street performances in the old town and in the fortresses and fortified churches around Sibiu; dance-theatre, flamenco, ballet, contemporary dance, puppetry and circus; light shows, music and mime; talks and debates; photography and painting exhibitions; book launches, installations and workshops. Events take place both in conventional venues and, above all, in unconventional spaces, turning Sibiu into a true cultural capital.
