Starting today, Banca Transilvania customers have another option for payments with Android phones and cash withdrawals at ATMs, Google PayTM, alongside the bank’s own payment solution, BT Pay. It is another iconic brand BT is partnering with to add contactless payment alternatives to its offering.

You can add your BT card to Google Pay from the BT Pay wallet; there’s no need for any other apps. Payments are simple and fast, in two steps – Unlock & Pay – by unlocking the phone and holding it near the POS.

As with BT’s other mobile payment options, there’s no need to enter your PIN at the POS, regardless of the amount, which enhances customer safety — a feature that is more than useful given the current pandemic context.

BT, the broadest range of contactless payment options

The alternatives Banca Transilvania customers can use when shopping include both wearables and, above all, BT Pay, Romania’s first payments and banking super-app, with features that go beyond banking: donations, BT offers and partner offers, as well as health.  

Beyond paying by phone and contactless cash withdrawals, the BT Pay app allows users to make money transfers, confirm online payments, manage their cards, and add cards issued by other banks and fintechs active in Romania, among others.

With over 4.3 million cards issued, Banca Transilvania is the market leader in Romania. 1 in 4 of the bank’s cards is also in digital format, enrolled by customers in wallets for mobile banking. On average, 12 transactions with BT cards take place every second.
