Banca Transilvania is taking another step to advance digitalisation with the launch of the BT Tichet online platform, where companies can order BT Meal Cards online to replace paper meal vouchers.

The first step for a company that wants meal cards for its employees is to sign an agreement with Banca Transilvania. After that, the company will have access to the BT Tichet web app, through which it can choose online to issue BT Meal Cards, with delivery to its premises by courier; request the reissuance of BT Meal Cards or PINs; and access invoices for the voucher transfers made to these cards.

The meal card is intended for buying food and paying for meals at grocery stores and restaurants in Romania. It can be obtained exclusively through the employer if the organisation offers meal vouchers as a fringe benefit, whether or not employees are BT customers. In addition to the physical card, customers can also have a digital version by enrolling it in the BT Pay or Apple Pay to pay by phone, review transactions and check card balances.

For personal customers, Banca Transilvania thus offers a complete solution: a payroll card (the BT Visa Classic debit card) and the meal card, in physical or digital format, by enrolling it in BT Pay.

What the BT Tichet platform means for employers:

What the Meal Card means for customers:

• An easy way to shop at merchants – with the card or by phone – at the BT partner merchants;

• The ability to manage cards online via the BT Pay app: block or unblock cards if lost or stolen, view the available balance and transaction history, and change transaction limits; 
• As this is a meal card, funds cannot be withdrawn or transferred. The card cannot be loaded with other funds;
