UNTOLD 2026 brought together participants from around the world and confirmed the growing preference for digital transactions: over 160,000 festival wristband top-ups were made with cards issued in 90 countries. Banca Transilvania, the official bank of UNTOLD, provided the payments infrastructure that supported participants’ cashless experience.  

• One in two cards used to load festival wristbands was issued by Banca Transilvania.
  
  
• People aged 18 to 34 accounted for 56% of BT customers who topped up their festival wristbands.
  
  
• 55% of wristband top-ups were made online, via the UNTOLD app.
  
  
• Preference for the Pay with BT Pay option, integrated into the UNTOLD app, increased. Such transactions were up 56% this year compared with UNTOLD 2025.
  
  
• Interest in the BT Visa UNTOLD card also translated into 4,700 new cards issued during the festival. The user community has passed the 200,000 mark.
  
  

To support the cashless experience, Banca Transilvania provided a complete payments ecosystem, including transaction processing, wristband loading points (Credit Points), merchant POS terminals, the on-site ATM, solutions integrated in the BT Pay app, and the BT Visa UNTOLD card.

Beyond music and digital payments, UNTOLD also meant movement. Participants who had activated the Prizes for Moving option in BT Pay logged over 40 million steps during the festival.

The data confirm the festival’s international scale, participants’ preference for digital solutions, and the role of technology in the festival experience.

UNTOLD 2027 STAR Edition will take place in Cluj-Napoca, August 5-8.
