The management team of Victoriabank, the third-largest bank in the Republic of Moldova, has two new members, Bogdan Plesuvescu – President and Vasile Donica – Vice President, who have received approval from the National Bank of Moldova to take up their positions.

• Bogdan Plesuvescu has more than 17 years of management experience and extensive expertise in commercial and business areas. Over the past 7 years, he has broadened his expertise to include loan remediation and workout, regulatory matters, and mergers and acquisitions involving financial institutions in Romania. He was part of Banca Transilvania’s core negotiating teams for its major transactions in recent years, namely BT’s acquisition of Volksbank and Bancpost. He is Chair of the Legal Committee of the Romanian Association of Banks, a member of Turnaround Management Association Romania and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Legal Counsel in Romania’s financial-banking system. In 2017, he was included by the specialist publication The Legal 500 in the GC Powerlist Central and Eastern Europe, which features the most influential General Counsel in Central and Eastern Europe.

• Vasile Donica has been an economist for nearly 20 years, with experience in audit, banking, workout and leasing. He led BT Leasing MD for 5 years, a company that became the market leader by the value of fixed-asset lease financing.

Banca Transilvania became a shareholder in 2018 in Victoriabank. BT and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development hold over 66% of the bank’s share capital in the Republic of Moldova. As strategic partners and shareholders in Victoriabank, they aim to continue the bank’s growth and to help strengthen the banking sector in the Republic of Moldova.
