Moody’s Ratings has affirmed Banca Transilvania’s ratings first assigned in 2023 and revised the outlook to positive from stable for both the long-term deposit rating (Baa2) and the issuer rating (Baa3).

The affirmation of the baseline rating (Ba1) reflects BT’s strong capitalization and robust profitability, supported by its leading position in Romania’s banking market and operational efficiency. The rating also factors in the impact of Banca Transilvania’s acquisition of OTP Group’s companies in Romania.

The positive outlook on the bank’s long-term deposit and issuer ratings indicates strengthened depositor protection, underpinned by the sizeable volumes of recently issued senior non-preferred bonds.

This is the second year in which Banca Transilvania has been rated by Moody’s, and the rating agency’s accreditation supports BT’s efforts to maintain an efficient cost of capital.
