- The launch offer for applicants via BT Pay is a fixed interest rate of 8% per year
People who bank with BT Pay now have a new feature: a 100% online overdraft. This means you can apply in BT Pay and receive a line of credit of up to 25,000 lei in your current account in around 10 minutes. The new option is being rolled out gradually in BT Pay starting today.
An overdraft is extra funds available on any BT debit card for individuals — Visa Classic, Mastercard Mondo or Mastercard Gold Debit — and it can be obtained without trips to the bank. The funds become available after e‑signing the documents and can be accessed immediately, via the phone or the physical card, for purchases or transfers.
The launch offer for people who apply via BT Pay is a fixed interest rate of 8% per year, calculated on the amount used under the credit line. Each top-up of the current account means partial repayment of the credit, and the assessment and administration fee is zero.
Only a few steps are needed to obtain an overdraft: validation of the ID card and contact details; completion of the information required to grant the line of credit; signing the consent for ANAF income verification; and e‑signing the credit line agreement.
In BT Pay, customers have at hand all the information about the overdraft and the cards used to access it: balance, amount spent and amount available under the credit, interest, card details, transactions, offers; and for online payments, transactions can be confirmed directly from the phone.
The overdraft is intended for customers who are Romanian citizens with salary income reported to ANAF and who have worked for at least three months with the same employer. For the online option, the bank considers the income category through which it can offer the product most quickly to a significant number of customers, namely salary. In Banca Transilvania units, people with varied types of income — salaries, dividends, rental income, pensions, etc. — can apply for an overdraft.
The new feature follows Banca Transilvania’s fully online launch of the Star Forte card last year and is part of BT’s plan to consistently roll out remote banking solutions that enable applying for and accessing all core products through BT Pay.
