Banca Transilvania has reached 35,000 BT Visa Flying Blue cards, and the number of purchases made with these cards has increased steadily, by around 20% in each of the last three years.

• Over 30% of BT Visa Flying Blue transaction volume is spending abroad, mainly in Italy, France, Greece, the United States and the United Kingdom.
• October 2021 marked an all-time high, with over 2,000 BT Visa Flying Blue cards issued in a single month.

Travel — whether for holidays or business — is part of the lifestyle of BT Visa Flying Blue users. These are the only credit cards in Romania that award Flying Blue members bonus Miles with every payment, which can be redeemed for airline tickets or other benefits.

What BT Visa Flying Blue means for customers: 

• The Classic and Premium versions, physical and digital, in the BT Pay app;
• Managed via BT Pay: pay by phone; check transactions/balance; pay the monthly amount due and set up automatic monthly payments;
• Depending on the card, every 5 lei spent earns between 1 and 2 Miles;
• Welcome Miles when you receive the card: 1,000 Miles on the BT Flying Blue Classic card and 2,000 Miles on the BT Flying Blue Premium card;
• Miles for every payment, which can be used for airline tickets, upgrade to business class, extra baggage, accommodation, car rental or online purchases from the Flying Blue Store;
• Complimentary travel insurance from Groupama for trips abroad;
• The option to pay in interest-free instalments at merchants in Banca Transilvania’s Star programme and for payments made to Air France, KLM and TAROM;
• Free access to the business lounge at Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport and Avram Iancu Cluj-Napoca Airport, with the BT Visa Flying Blue Premium card;
• An extra 24 months added to the validity of Miles held in the Flying Blue programme.

BT Visa Flying Blue cards were launched ten years ago, in partnership with Air France, KLM and TAROM. We began then a rewarding, exploratory journey to turn customers’ spending into new destinations, and destinations into experiences. The product has evolved significantly — from a niche card into the cornerstone of BT’s travel solutions — for which we now have a full ecosystem: cards, travel insurance, currency exchange — all in the BT Pay app — and this different currency, Miles. The BT Visa Flying Blue portfolio brings a distinctive complement to the growth of BT’s credit card business.
