Over 300,000 people save with BT Pay’s Round Up feature

Payments made at POS terminals or online with Banca Transilvania debit cards — digital or physical — can build savings in Round Up, earning 3.2% interest. The number of BT Pay users who use the Round Up option has exceeded 300,000, up 50% versus the same period last year. 34% of them are aged 18 to 26, and 35% are 27 to 42.

Round Up savings accounts hold over RON 40 million, double the level in January 2024.

To have savings transferred automatically, BT Pay users need to activate the Round Up option in the Cards/Round Up section.

Customers can choose to round each transaction up to the next RON 1, RON 5 or RON 10, with the difference transferred to their Round Up savings account. For example, if the round-up threshold is set to RON 10, for a payment of RON 3.5 the round-up is RON 6.5.

The amount saved can be viewed in BT Pay, and it can be used at any time by transferring it to the current account at Banca Transilvania.
