Victoriabank received the title Bank of Innovations 2018 at the annual Mastercard Day forum, held in Chisinau on 12 June this year.

The distinction was awarded for introducing HCE (Host Card Emulation) technology to the market in the Republic of Moldova, which allows cards to be enrolled on a smartphone in the VB24 Mobile Pay app, simplifying payments at merchants. The phone thus becomes a digital wallet for POS purchases. The technology was introduced for the first time on the Moldovan market in 2017 by Victoriabank, which remains the only bank in the Republic of Moldova offering this payment option to customers.

The partnership between Victoriabank and Mastercard began in 2001. Victoriabank has approximately 325,000 cards in its portfolio.
