Today, March 3, Victoriabank and BCR Chișinău become one bank. The merger, now in its final stage, supports Victoriabank’s growth in the market in the Republic of Moldova.

With the acquisition of BCR Chișinău, announced in 2024, Victoriabank achieved a first on the Moldovan market: a local bank acquiring 100% of another Moldovan bank.

Financial impact  of the acquisition of BCR Chișinău:

• Victoriabank’s consolidated net profit for 2024 exceeded 1.1 billion lei, up by more than 70% versus 2023.
• The loan portfolio grew by more than 900 million lei.
• At the merger date, assets increased by 2 billion lei.

Victoriabank is strengthening its presence in two areas, Chișinău and Bălți, and the team has grown.  Over 50% of BCR Chișinău employees are now part of the Victoriabank team, and one in four holds a management role.

The integration was coordinated by Vasile Donica, in his capacity as CEO of BCR Chișinău, who returned to Victoriabank’s top management team as Corporate Vice President, a role he previously held.
