Banca Transilvania Group has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, which sets out how BT continued to embed sustainability principles across all areas of its activity — from financing the green economy and supporting local entrepreneurs, to the digitalisation of services and building a performance-focused organisational culture.
BT, sustainability & ESG:
- Banca Transilvania has raised its green lending target for 2025–2027 to RON 5 billion;
- In 2024, financing totalling approximately RON 1.8 billion was extended, directly contributing to reducing carbon emissions and protecting the environment;
- Green mortgages granted last year totalled RON 587 million, accounting for 13% of all mortgages issued in 2024;
- 73% of the Group’s electricity consumption came from renewable sources;
- The average training time per employee across the Group was 54 hours in 2024;
- Under the FIT programme, 50 financial education seminars were held and guides on managing a personal budget were distributed to 100,000 people;

New in this report is its alignment with the EU’s new reporting requirements — the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) — which complements the Banca Transilvania Group’s financial picture with a view of its environmental and social impact.
