Banca Transilvania is now accepting applications for the paid internship programme Take the first step towards a successful career, across 11 university centres. It is aimed at undergraduate and master’s students in economics and IT.

The overarching objective of the project is to increase the employability of 240 students from the North-West, West, Centre, North-East, South-East, South-West Oltenia and South-Muntenia regions through participation in work-based learning programmes. The project aims to keep students engaged and motivated; the practical training placements are designed to benefit both students and employers, paving the way for effective, long-term collaboration.

Take the first step towards a successful career is financed through POCU 2014-2020, Code MYSMIS 109166, Priority Axis 6, Investment Priority 10.iv, Specific Objective 6.13, 6.14, in partnership with Clubul Intreprinzatorului Roman. The total project value is 2,132,762.31 lei and the EU co-financing amounts to 1,826,183.36 lei. It is taking place in Arad, Bacau, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Constanta, Iasi, Oradea, Targoviste, Timisoara and Sibiu, from 7 June 2018 to 6 June 2020.

Details about the next intake, to be held in November–December this year at BT, for undergraduate and master’s students in economics:

• Participants will have the chance to learn about banking — both theory and practice — from the Banca Transilvania team, in branches, agencies or at the BT Head Office.
• Internship duration: 3 weeks.
• Applicants are required to send their CV to internship@btrl.ro by 31 October this year.
• The selection interview will take place at Banca Transilvania in the first half of November this year.

The concrete solutions proposed under this project are: developing partnerships between employers and universities, disseminating good practice, and informing, counselling and guidance to increase employment among at least 240 students.

In July–September this year, 15 students had the opportunity to undertake internships at Banca Transilvania, within the IT and Digital Transformation divisions, as part of the Take the first step towards a successful career programme.
