Hustle is the order of the day when you’re a branch manager and have to be on the ball for anything and anyone, whether it’s customers or colleagues. With such a dynamic job, you’d think weekends are reserved for lazing in bed, laptop within reach and some snacks on the side.

Well… not for Bogdan. On his days off he wakes up even earlier than on workdays and is on the move from dawn till dusk — because (almost) every weekend he heads to the countryside with his family, and there’s always something to do there. He’s always tinkering in the garden or around the house.

He doesn’t like the city. Noise, chaos, polluted air, crowds — and we could easily keep going. He hadn’t planned to stay in Cluj after finishing his studies, but something came along that changed his plans. Correction, someone*. Dana, who is now his wife.

Dear Dana, thank you for keeping Bogdan in Cluj, otherwise we wouldn’t have had the chance to feature him today as one of the #OameniidelaBanca we’re fond of. 😀

His career at BT started in 2012 as a teller, and since then it seems the number 2 has brought him luck: after 2 years at the cash desk he moved to the front office, after another 2 he became a retail loans officer, and after — surprise — another 2 years he became branch manager of the branch on Mehedinti Street in Manastur, Cluj. As of January, you’ll find Bogdan at the branch on Louis Pasteur.

"In 8 years I’ve met quite a few people. When I joined the bank, I could barely talk to people. Little by little, I got past that."

If we told you that before he joined BT he had 300 contacts in his phone and now he has 1,000, you’d probably wonder how he went from that to talking every day to dozens of customers with ease, professionalism and a vibe that gets them to relax after the first two or three minutes. The answer?

“I think it’s instinct, in the end. Somehow, you have to adapt to each person. Many times, people come to the bank without knowing exactly which product fits their needs. You have to find that something they really need.”
