When we hear Viseul de Sus, it’s not the famous Mocanita that comes to mind, but the home region of our colleague from Maramures, Codruta Andreica. She is a manager in BT’s Customer Relations Department and one of the #OameniidelaBanca who never imagined she would hold such a role.

Her parents pictured her as a teacher and encouraged her to study Languages and Literature. She did complete the degree, but her instinct told her that career wouldn’t make her happy. She didn’t go into the field. Instead, she joined the telecoms industry in a role that suited her perfectly: sales. One day, a customer noticed her sales skills and suggested she come to BT, because — surprise — that customer turned out to be one of ours, part of the BT team. 


Codruta mulled it over, but the decision was half made. She was already thinking of moving to Cluj, sensing that her 5-year-old “little rascal” would love it here.

It’s been almost 2 years since Codruta joined the BT team, and she’s been constantly on the move ever since: wake up, take the little one to kindergarten, rush to the office, and on weekends, dash to university. It’s never too late to study what you love, so our Codruta is a manager, a mom, and a student majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems!

Even though she didn’t have a banking background at first, she hit her targets from day one. And in a customer-facing role, she believes some skills are all about the person:

"The most important thing is to be very friendly. Let the customer speak. They want to be listened to — that’s why they come to us, they want to be heard. There has to be empathy."



A customer even suggested she open a psychology practice, much to her amusement. And we know she could run her own business, because she’s already done it. In the 5th month of her maternity leave, Codruta opened a second-hand shop that she managed from A to Z. Although she was very fond of the business, after a few months she had to give it up, because things only worked if she handled them herself — and she no longer had time for that.

Codruta, we’re glad things turned out this way because, in the end, you became one of the #OameniidelaBanca we’re proud to have by our side! ❤
