Banca Transilvania, the Hope and Homes for Children foundation and Alphega pharmacies are helping vulnerable children avoid ending up in orphanages and stay with their parents. BT has donated 30 POS terminals to the Hope and Homes for Children foundation, enabling anyone who wishes to make contactless donations at Alphega pharmacies in Bucharest and 18 counties: Alba, Arad, Arges, Brasov, Buzau, Constanta, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Iasi, Maramures, Mehedinti, Olt, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava and Timis.

The donation amount is 5 lei. Donations can be made with a card issued by any bank — either the physical card or a digital card in banking apps such as BT Pay. Every donation made this May is matched by Alphega.

Banca Transilvania launched contactless donations via dedicated POS terminals in 2018, to support, together with the Little People Association and the Clujul Are Suflet foundation, sick children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Since the beginning of the year, through the involvement of Hope and Homes for Children, over 500 vulnerable children have stayed with their parents, and nearly 170 families have remained together.
