Banca Transilvania today launches the STAR.card shopping app for clients who hold a BT-issued STAR credit card. The app provides information on offers from merchants in the bank’s STAR loyalty program, as well as exclusive offers. It can be downloaded from the App Store or the Google Play Store.

The STAR.card app includes:

• Offers from STAR program partner merchants.
• Exclusive offers from STAR partners or early-access offers for BT clients who use the app.
• Details about STAR partner merchants, including which merchant is closest when using the app.
• Shopping lists that can be shared and updated with family or friends.

Banca Transilvania’s STAR loyalty program includes:

• Rewarding shopping thanks to the benefits of STAR credit cards: STAR loyalty points that can be used later for other purchases, and the option to pay in interest-free installments.
• STAR cards issued by BT: Forte, Gold, Platinum, Forte pentru Medici, Business Silver and Business Gold. You can apply for a STAR card online, on the bank’s website, or at any BT branch.
• 10,000 partner merchants across a wide range of sectors.
• The STAR.card app, launched today.

Banca Transilvania is one of the largest credit card issuers in Romania, with over 330,000 cards in its portfolio.

BT was named Bank of the Year in the Cards Market thanks to the results achieved in 2016 versus 2015: 25% growth in the number of POS terminals; 24% growth in the total number of transactions made with BT cards; 23% growth in the number of merchant acquiring contracts; and almost 20% growth in the total value of transactions with its own cards. The title was awarded recently at the NOCASH Gala, held in Bucharest.
