Banca Transilvania supports EntrepreNation CityStart – the national entrepreneurship competition for high school and university students
Scholarships worth over 50,000 euros at The Entrepreneurship Academy
The Entrepreneurship Academy (EA), the first college in Southeastern Europe dedicated to entrepreneurship, together with Banca Transilvania, are launching the national EntrepreNation CityStart competition, a first for Romania, open to high school pupils and first-year students with a passion for business, management, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. It aims to develop the entrepreneurial skills of more than 300 young people, and the winners will have access to scholarships totaling over 50,000 euros.
The competition runs from December 2018 – April 2019 in Iasi (8 December), Galati (8 December), Sibiu (19 January), Cluj-Napoca (26 January) and Timisoara (26 January). Young people who wish to enter can do so free of charge by completing a registration form available on the Facebook page @TheEntrepreneurshipAcademy, and more details are available online.
Experienced entrepreneurs and students who already run a business will mentor EntrepreNation CityStart participants
In each of the five cities hosting the competition, experienced entrepreneurs will be alongside participants. Together with The Entrepreneurship Academy students who already have a business, they will guide them to generate high-impact ideas in a contest that challenges them to develop business concepts. Afterwards, over 4 months, participants will join a mentoring and entrepreneurship programme delivered by the EA team to implement and test the business ideas generated during the competition.
The winners will receive scholarships at EA – The Entrepreneurship Academy and access to an intensive entrepreneurship programme
The winning teams will be announced in April 2019, at the EntrepreNation CityStart final. They will then take part in a BootCamp, a 7-day entrepreneurship programme. By the end of the programme, each winner will have a viable business plan, which they will implement with the help of mentoring sessions with students and entrepreneurs from The Entrepreneurship Academy network.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to get involved in this great project and thus take another step forward in entrepreneurial and financial education. This time we are addressing high school pupils and students, in whom we have great confidence that they will contribute with enthusiasm and ideas to future businesses. The project touches on two of BT’s main areas of community involvement — entrepreneurship and education — both key to Romania’s development.” – said Sergiu Mircea, Marketing & Communication Director, Banca Transilvania.
The Entrepreneurship Academy is an environment where teams of students learn business by building and managing real companies, under the guidance of a team coach, a business coach and a team of international experts and professors. - Theory is structured to follow the practical journey of implementing the ventures created by students.
- Professors at EA-The Entrepreneurship Academy are businesspeople, managers from international companies and professors from universities abroad.
- Each year of study includes an international experience of at least 6 weeks, during which EA students will learn and engage with entrepreneurs from outside the country.
The Entrepreneurship Academy is based in Bucharest and offers those interested in entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship a 4-year bachelor’s programme in business, business administration and entrepreneurship.
