BT connects the Romanian diaspora to Romania through an online campaign to shop for banking services

Banca Transilvania is bringing the diaspora closer to Romania with its first banking shopping campaign dedicated to Romanians living abroad, Acasă e oriunde simți că se poate. The campaign runs exclusively on the bank’s website from June 16 to 30.

Inspired by the lifestyle of Romanians in the diaspora — some of BT’s most digital customers — the campaign offers simple, fast financial solutions that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. They make it easier to manage money and stay financially connected with family in Romania.

Banking solutions, benefits and prizes

BT customers and prospective customers can access a range of products and services designed for financial mobility, which may also come with benefits and prizes, such as:

  • Open an account online via BT Pay – 5% cashback on payments, up to EUR 100;
  • Mortgages for homes in Romania – no application fee;
  • Virtual cards in EUR and USD, issued in BT Pay – 10 pairs of tickets to Nibiru available to win;
  • Designated cardholder card, issued via BT Pay – discount on UNTOLD passes;
  • Home insurance via BT Pay, with extended coverage and 15% cashback;
  • BT Pay Kiddo – 10% cashback and prizes awarded in a prize draw;
  • Subscriptions to the Regina Maria Health Network, with a 40% discount on tests, investigations and consultations, as well as access to remote medical solutions.

Most of these solutions can be accessed entirely through the BT Pay app, the preferred way for Romanians in the diaspora to open a bank account. The app recorded a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 86 (out of 100), one of the highest scores in BT’s customer satisfaction studies for 2025 and 2026.

BT for the diaspora

Beyond remote banking solutions, the Banca Transilvania Group has over 600 branches in Romania, Italy and the Republic of Moldova. It has also launched the BT pentru Diaspora platform, which features everyday banking solutions, tips for managing money, news and articles on macroeconomics, information on online safety, as well as access to the FIT – Finance in Everyone’s Language financial education program.

The campaign launched today is one of the initiatives through which Banca Transilvania stays close to Romanians everywhere.
