Banca Transilvania is launching a multi-banking feature, NEO Control, in the NEO app, allowing customers to view details of their personal accounts held with fintechs or banks operating in Romania, such as Revolut, ING, BCR and UniCredit.

BT is leveraging the opportunities created by Open Banking, which, by integrating new players into its own IT ecosystem, enables the launch of new products and services. With NEO Control, Banca Transilvania is introducing a first for Romania: a multi-banking service built on interconnectivity using BT’s Open Banking platform.

“People need fast, personalized, accessible, less formal and more affordable services, and the NEO Control feature is one of them. Open Banking has opened the door to a new way of doing banking, based on interconnection, and this suits us very well: since 2018, when we launched the platform, we like to experiment, to be pioneers. We collaborate with fintechs and combine their agility with BT’s know-how and large customer base” – says Mariana Chindris, Executive Director - Chief Technology Officer, Banca Transilvania.

NEO is Banca Transilvania’s new mobile and internet banking platform, on which the bank is constantly rolling out new features. With the options it offers, it is comparable to fintech apps and is a good fit for those who are keen on innovation, early adopters.

Convenience with NEO Control

• Customers can add in NEO the accounts they hold with other banks or fintechs operating in Romania. The first that can be integrated are BCR, ING, UniCredit and Revolut, and their number will increase over the coming period.
• Through NEO Control, BT customers can view information about accounts and transactions.
• The NEO Control feature was developed by Banca Transilvania together with FINQware, a Romanian fintech that provides the data aggregation solution.

Today’s launch follows other recent announcements from Banca Transilvania: NEOcont for individuals and NEOcont for entrepreneurs, which allow those who want to bank with Banca Transilvania to open an account 100% online, with no trip to the bank.
