The Pensia Noastră Privately Managed Pension Fund, part of Pillar 2, managed by BT Pensia Noastră, is now available in the BT Pay app. This is also its new name as of August 2026, following approval by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF); previously it was the BRD Privately Managed Pension Fund. The change reflects the full integration of the fund into the portfolio managed by BT Pensia Noastră and into the Banca Transilvania Financial Group.

The Pensia Noastră Privately Managed Pension Fund has over 630,000 participants, and assets under management exceed 11.8 billion lei.

Banca Transilvania and BT Investments acquired BRD Pensii – operating in both pension pillars – in November 2025, a transaction that marked the Banca Transilvania Group’s entry into Pillar 2 and strengthened its position in Pillar 3.

Pillar 2, part of the retirement savings of millions of Romanians

People who started their careers after 2007, before turning 35, are required to contribute to Pillar 2, whether they chose a particular fund or were automatically allocated to one of Romania’s Pillar 2 pension funds. They can find out their pension fund administrator via the ASF website.

When starting employment, every future participant can choose the private pension fund that will manage their retirement savings. If no option is expressed within the first four months of hiring, allocation to a privately managed pension fund is carried out automatically, through the random allocation mechanism managed by the National House of Public Pensions.

Each month, 4.75% of gross salary is directed into an individual private pension account opened in each participant’s name.

BT Pay makes it easier to manage private pension funds

Participants in the pension funds Pillar 2 and 3 managed by entities within the Banca Transilvania financial group can access in the BT Pay app information such as the total amount accumulated and the history of monthly contributions.
