Banca Transilvania Financial Group invests in Ebriza, a start-up that digitizes business management
● With Ebriza, your business can be managed online, in real time ●
Banca Transilvania Financial Group, through BT Investments, is the lead investor in a 300,000-euro funding round launched by Ebriza. BT is making this investment to support entrepreneurs, who can better manage their business thanks to the software developed by Ebriza. Joining Banca Transilvania in the round are Risky Business, the Cluj-based accelerator fund, Marcelus Suciu, founder of Marty Restaurants, and Dan Isai, founder of Salad Box.
This investment round values the Romanian start-up founded by Cristian Dinescu and Alexandru Mares at 1.5 million euros, one year after their first round and entry into the Risky Business accelerator, when Ebriza was valued at half a million euros.
Ebriza completely reimagines the cash register and sales and management software: these will be accessible online, around the clock, from any device, allowing real-time tracking of a company’s operations, inventory and sales. Ebriza also connects businesses in HoReCa, retail and services with their suppliers and service providers, and with ordering or booking apps, via a marketplace open to any developer.
With this investment, the BT Group is taking another step in fintech: in 2017 it took a stake in Timesafe, the developer of Pago, an app for managing and paying utility bills, and in March this year Banca Transilvania announced a collaboration with Personetics, the market leader in cognitive banking solutions, through which it will integrate artificial intelligence into BT24 Internet Banking and Mobile Banking this year.
Statements:
- Ömer Tetik, Chief Executive Officer, Banca Transilvania: “We are pleased to invest in this start-up, which will help SME clients manage their businesses better. As the bank for enterprising people, it is essential that we support innovation and the development of a start-up ecosystem, so that it becomes easier for entrepreneurs to do business in our country.”
- Cristian Dinescu, co-founder, Ebriza: “Banca Transilvania’s investment in Ebriza is fantastic validation of our efforts. We aim to offer merchants free POS sales software — issuing fiscal receipts — directly on a tablet or phone connected to a wireless fiscal printer, and to focus on adjacent marketplace services, with merchants paying only for the latter.”
Ebriza is one of the finalist start-ups at Startup Avalanche, the annual competition organized in Cluj-Napoca by Techsylvania and Risky Business. It took part in Risky Business Cluj’s first start-up acceleration program. The software is already in use at over 100 merchants in Romania and abroad.
With this capital injection, Ebriza will be able to focus on developing its own marketplace, which will allow any business to instantly connect its sales and management software with product and service providers.
