BT Leasing, part of the Banca Transilvania Financial Group, now issues all invoices electronically using the e-Factur@ e‑invoicing service provided by TRANSFOND via Banca Transilvania. The complete redesign of the billing workflow brings BT Leasing customers greater convenience, speed and security for their monthly invoices.  

The collaboration between Banca Transilvania and TRANSFOND thus marks a second avenue of development in technology‑based financial services, alongside interbank payment services. In e‑invoicing, Banca Transilvania and TRANSFOND are continuing efforts to roll out e‑Factur@ across the financial sector, offering billers a comprehensive, high‑performance service, in line with European trends that have become increasingly prominent in recent years.

The immediate benefits of implementing e‑Factur@ include lower internal operating costs associated with issuing and archiving paper invoices, as well as streamlined processes within the company, thanks to the provider’s high‑performance technology infrastructure, which already processes a large number of invoices.

Launched by TRANSFOND in 2009, the e‑Factur@ service is built on a single, secure application that both billers and recipients can connect to. Through e‑Factur@, invoice issuance and delivery are ensured, as well as electronic archiving. Archived invoices have the legal status of supporting documents, so there is no need to print and store them on paper. The e‑invoicing service therefore delivers significant savings in processing time and costs, as well as in the physical space needed to store documents. Operationally, for issuing organisations, the service improves monitoring, streamlines processes and strengthens cash‑flow control.

The e‑Factur@ service also brings important benefits for payers. Each time an invoice is issued, the payer is notified by email. As a result, they can view the invoice easily and quickly, wherever they are, 24/7, provided they have internet access. This eliminates the risk of invoices being lost or damaged. At the same time, the payer can access the invoice in the application, in their own account, for 90 days from the date of issue. By using the service, the payer receives an electronically signed invoice with legal validity, while the biller has the assurance that the content of the invoice delivered to the customer has not been altered in any way. Electronic invoices issued via e‑Factur@ have a standard, structured format that payers can import directly into accounting software interfaces, making processing more efficient. Although they circulate in a structured format (signed XML), the payer can view the invoice in an easy‑to‑read format (PDF) with a single click. To use the service, payers simply enrol in e‑Factur@, which also constitutes their consent to receive invoices electronically, as required by Romanian and European tax legislation.
