How can customers contact BT to request a deferral of their loan repayments?

As we announced a few days ago, we continue to stand by our clients — both individuals and companies — in this challenging period. New times call for new support measures: it’s part of #humanbanking, of #solidarity, and of the BT approach.

If you are having difficulty paying instalments on the loans you have with us, given the current context, we are offering the option to defer them.

How to contact BT without visiting a branch

Personal customers:

  • Online, by applying here;
  • By phone, at 0264 30 80 28 (BT Customer Care team);
  • Through the BT Visual Help app: call 0264 30 80 00; follow the link received by SMS; open the app, where you will also find the option to defer instalments in the menu; we will then call you back, depending on the number of requests we have under review.

SME and corporate clients:

  • Through the BT Visual Help app: call 0264 30 80 00; follow the link received by SMS; open the app, where you will also find the option to defer instalments in the menu; we will then call you back, depending on the number of requests we have under review.
  • With support from our colleagues in the SME & Corporate teams, so please reach out by phone to the person you usually deal with among #oameniidelaBT.

Support for personal customers:

  • You can defer up to 3 loan instalments (mortgage-backed loans, consumer loans, Prima Casa loans);
  • In practice, deferring the repayment period means extending the loan term by the corresponding number of months, with no additional costs. The exception is Prima Casa loans, where the deferral means the deferred monthly instalments are redistributed over the remaining loan term.
  • For credit cards, we have extended the grace period until 25 May this year, both for payment obligations and for purchases in instalments, for all customers who are not currently in arrears on their monthly payment. For example, for a transaction made in instalments in February, the first instalment was charged on 29 February and will fall due between 1 and 25 May, while the second instalment will fall due by 25 June, and so on. For transactions made in instalments in March and April, the first instalment will be charged on 31 May and will fall due on 25 June.
  • Although you have no payment due on your credit cards until 25 May this year, if you would like to make a payment to your card we recommend using BT Pay or BT24 Internet Banking & Mobile Banking. If you have set the automatic payment option in BT Pay, it will not run on 25 March, only on 25 May. If you still wish to make the payment, we recommend a card-to-card transfer.

Support for SMEs and corporates:

  • You can reduce loan instalments for the next 6 months by up to 100%;
  • The documentation we need to evidence the situation is minimal.

We’ll find the best solution and move forward together. #Saauzimdebine
