Highest rate: 8.5% on the 36-month deposit for individuals and companies

Banca Transilvania is increasing interest rates on savings products in RON and foreign currency for individuals and companies by up to 2 percentage points. The 24- and 36-month deposits carry the highest rates among BT savings products, at 7.75% and 8.5% respectively, with interest paid annually on each deposit anniversary. This is BT’s sixth rate increase since February this year.

New rates for individuals. For term deposits in RON:

• 1-month deposit: 5.75% (+0.5%)
• 3-month deposit: 6.5% (+0.5%)
• 6-month deposit: 7% (+0.75%)
• 12-month deposit: 7.25% (+0.5%)
• 24-month deposit: 7.75% (+0.25%)
• 36-month deposit: 8.5% (+0.5%)

KidCONT, the product that encourages saving for children, now pays 6.5% for 12 months, following a 0.5 percentage point increase.

For term deposits in euro:

• 1-month deposit: 0.35% (+0.35%)
• 3-month deposit: 0.6% (+0.6%)
• 6-month deposit: 1% (+0.85%)
• 12-month deposit: 1.5% (+1.25%)
• 24-month deposit: 2% (+1.65%)
• 36-month deposit: 2.5% (+2%)

For term deposits in US dollars:

• 1-month deposit: 2% (+1.25%)
• 3-month deposit: 2.5% (+1.35%)
• 6-month deposit: 3% (+1.25%)
• 12-month deposit: 3.5% (+1.15%)
