Banca Transilvania streamlines the process for entrepreneurs applying for the grant programme

● A BT account can be opened 100% online by companies with a single shareholder and by sole traders (PFA) that are not BT customers, and all transactions to and from the BT grant account are free of charge ●

Banca Transilvania is ready to distribute grants from European funds to support entrepreneurs and to ensure swift implementation of the programme. The bank is aligning with the Government’s initiative to deliver this programme simply, online, by applying BT’s best practices from other government programmes and mobilising the necessary resources.

Banca Transilvania will transfer the money from the Ministry of Economy, Energy and the Business Environment to the entrepreneur within 7 days.

For micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and for sole traders (PFA) that choose BT as their partner bank, Banca Transilvania has put in place arrangements so that most steps can be completed online, without having to come to the bank:

  • After the official launch of online enrolment in the grant programme, companies that are not BT customers and have a single shareholder — as well as sole traders (PFA) — can open a current account online via NEO Cont. BT customers who do not have online banking will automatically receive BT24.
  • The bank will automatically open grant sub-accounts for BT customers after it receives the list of beneficiaries from the Ministry of Economy, Energy and the Business Environment. It will also inform those companies at this stage by SMS and email.
  • All transactions to and from the BT grant sub-account are free of charge.
  • At each stage of the grant programme, Banca Transilvania will use electronic channels, SMS and email to notify customers in real time about the grant being credited to the dedicated sub-account, the approaching deadline for using the grants, and the obligation to prepare and submit the Progress Report.
  • For companies opting for grants under Measure 3, of up to 200,000 euros for investments, Banca Transilvania is ready to offer bridge loans and, where applicable, co-financing loans.
  • Entrepreneurs have access to a chatbot, Raul de la BT, where they can get information around the clock about the grant programme as well, via Facebook Messenger, Skype and on WhatsApp (by adding the phone number 0757 080 006 to their contacts).
  • Banca Transilvania has prepared online information for entrepreneurs who wish to choose BT as their partner bank, and the details prepared by the Government can also be accessed online.

The programme — initiated by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and the Business Environment — is intended to support companies and the economy. Entrepreneurs whose businesses have been affected by the context generated by the pandemic can benefit from financing between 2,000 and 200,000 euros through the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014–2020. The programme has three funding schemes: microgrants, working capital grants for SMEs and investment grants for SMEs.
