Banca Transilvania is providing Simtel, one of Romania’s renewable energy leaders, with 28 million euros in financing to complete a solar park in Giurgiu. The package comprises a 16 million euro investment loan and a 60.6 million lei bridge loan.

The project is 80% complete. Construction to date has been funded from the company’s own resources, and the two BT loans will fully fund its completion.

Through this financing package we are deepening the strategic partnership we have developed over time with Simtel and, at the same time, reaffirming Banca Transilvania’s commitment to supporting renewable energy projects, resource efficiency and Romania’s transition to a green economy.

This project will generate significant revenue from green energy, giving us a strong competitive advantage in a volatile economic and geopolitical environment. To maximize the investment’s return and accelerate execution, we decided to contract these credit facilities, which complement NRRP funding and our own contribution. Simtel has seven other solar park projects: three completed — in Pleșoiu, Salonta and Iacobeni — and four at various stages of construction or permitting — in Anina, Ianca, Mangalia and Movilița — with completion expected by the middle of next year.
