Banca Transilvania is introducing new solutions that help Romanians living abroad manage money in different currencies and do their banking anytime, anywhere, via the BT Pay app:

• Delivery of the physical card by courier to Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Moldova.
• Adding to BT Pay cards issued by other banks or fintechs from more than 30 countries.
• In-app top-ups of the BT card by transferring funds from other cards enrolled in BT Pay, issued by banks and fintechs in Romania or abroad.

BT Pay helps connect family members financially across countries and supports financial inclusion for Romanians everywhere. Financial inclusion in Romania stood at 71% in 2024, according to the Romanian Association of Banks and the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy.

The Open a current account via BT Pay, with an instant digital card feature, launched in January 2024, has so far brought Banca Transilvania a significant number of new customers, approximately 100,000, including Romanians from 26 countries.

BT Pay users have access to all the day-to-day banking features of the app immediately after opening their account and can choose one of the BT current account subscriptions. Most services linked to the current account and debit card are free, including card delivery in other countries. There is no fee for transfers in RON or other currencies between BT Pay users, or for payments with the BT card, digital or physical, whether abroad or in Romania.

For Romanians living abroad, the bank has a dedicated call center team (+40264 303 003, contact@btrl.ro). They can also find information on the Întreb BT website, a financial education platform that in 2024 was visited from abroad mainly from Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France and the Republic of Moldova.
