Banca Transilvania’s commitment to supporting Romanians during the pandemic was recognized, most recently, with an award for BT at the Sustainability Awards Gala. The event was organized by BIZ magazine in Bucharest, on September 30 this year.

BT was represented by Nevenca Doca, Senior Executive Director of Human Resources, who delivered the following message: “If someone had told us at the start of the year that in March, instead of doing business, we’d be looking for ventilators for hospitals, we wouldn’t have believed it. But that’s exactly what we did! As people, when we are in danger, we focus on getting ourselves and our loved ones to safety — protecting our homes and families. For BT, “home” is Romania. We have no other “home”. And “our own” are our customers and colleagues, together with all the people of this country. So when danger struck, we put other plans aside and contributed over 2 million euro to equip hospitals in more than 30 communities. In parallel, we continued to do banking both in the more than 400 branches that remained open throughout and online, we continued hiring, and we financed businesses and individuals responsibly, to support the economy and Romanians. We, the people of BT — as we like to say — thank you for this recognition and we will continue to get involved and do good. With courage, for Romania, for all of us!”

The award-winning brands were selected by BIZ following an assessment of their initiatives and their contribution to the communities they are part of, based on four criteria: impact, efficiency, innovation and originality.
