Banca Transilvania’s subordinated bonds were admitted to trading today on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The total size of the issue is EUR 285 million.

"Banca Transilvania launched this issue to finance growth in the medium- and long-term loan portfolio and to optimise the capital structure, thereby delivering higher returns to shareholders" - said Ömer Tetik, CEO, Banca Transilvania.

"We are seeing two market firsts for the Romanian capital market from the same issuer. First, this is Banca Transilvania’s first bond issue on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Secondly, the bank’s bonds are the first on BVB to have a euro floating-rate coupon. In addition, Banca Transilvania has stood out on the local market as the most traded issuer and is among the top three companies by market capitalisation" – said Adrian Tanase, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The bonds qualify as Tier 2 capital, are unsecured and subordinated, are denominated in euro, and have an annual coupon of 6-month EURIBOR + 3.75%. The subordinated bonds trade under the ticker TLV28E and mature in 2028.
